Job Description
SchoolMint’s Marketing is searching for an experienced content marketer to help evolve the Content Marketing practice across the organization. We are looking for a professional passionate about content marketing with deep understanding of the content marketing landscape for SAAS companies, preferably in K12. Someone to drive existing programs and new efforts based on business priorities. Being a revenue-generating department, marketing is looking for a leader that can drive, own, and elevate every aspect of the practice. This role is 60% planning and execution, 20% analysis and 20% strategy.
If you are a content marketer experienced in driving diverse, revenue-generating content across multiple channels, we want to hear from you. This is a highly-visible role with the power to influence decisions, at department and company level, that impact the bottom line. You will show off your abilities in assessing needs, planning, and executing vision aligned with organization goals. You’ll align the practice with other marketing verticals to effectively create content to drive awareness and demand across channels.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver high performing content optimized for audience reach and appropriate for dissemination through all marketing channels (web, DG, SEO/SEM, paid, etc.)
- Champion brand’s voice and the evolution of the brand
- Elevate and evolve the Content Marketing practice, owning end-to-end processes including editorial calendar and content management channels
- Assist in the development and alignment of content strategy (themes, topics, channels, and calendar) and programs
- Diversify content portfolio serving the entire customer journey, from awareness to purchase and post-sales
- Manage existing programs, across ideation, sourcing, review/edit content, and establish content placement strategy
- Driving cross-team collaboration including working with customers to tell powerful stories for various stages of the sales funnel and buying stages
- Assist in branding of, and content creation for, thought leadership website
- Ideate and manage podcast efforts
- Influence areas of Marketing impacting revenue
- Manage internal and external partnerships as needed
- Own content and asset measurement, performance and optimization, including tracking how content sources and influences pipeline and revenue by channel
What You’ll Bring
- BA/BS in business or related fields (English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, UX, HCI)
- 5-7 years of hands-on B2B content marketing experience – ideally in the enterprise SaaS space
- Comfortable working in lean and agile work environment
- Superior copywriting and editing skills, with creativity, opinions, curiosity, wit, humor, and a sense of collaboration in your content creation process
- Passion for building mindshare via content, willingness to experiment, and a metrics-driven approach to execution
- Proven track record of writing for audience-specific conversions across various mediums, including short-form (social, ads) and long-form (white papers, ebooks, long articles)
- Demonstrated expertise in nurturing a target audience across various platforms and formats
- Experience creating content for web, email, social, and other performing channels
- Understanding of content production processes including design, layout, reviews, and approval
- Curiosity and keen insight that enables you to spot innovative market trends and content opportunities
- Strong strategic orientation with a "get-it-done" mindset...you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to execute
- Meticulous project management, and ability coordinate across teams, with an eye for details, schedules, and budgets
- Ownership, you’re comfortable taking on projects and seeing them through to completion
- Experience with SEO, MarkTech and tools including WP, Marketo, Google Analytics, Salesforce, and/or other related tools
- Collaborative team mentality with positive energy and a willingness to partner with others to accomplish shared goals
- Diverse portfolio and/or work samples
- Bonus points for web development skills and experiences that drive web performance
- Bonus points if you’ve done all of this in the K12 space
