Location: Multi CampusJob Description Summary
To provide support services to Adult Education teaching staff and students. This position is responsible for entryof data into the WRU database, answering phones, performing research needed by Adult Education instructors,filing, maintaining student records. This position is responsible for TABE testing, developing reports and analyzing data based on WRU database. This position is the first point-of-contact for Adult Education students and is expected to be professional, welcoming, and provide needed assistance to students. This position may require delivery of tutoring services as indicated by the Director of Adult Education. This position will be responsible for the computer lab and provided instructional assistance to the instructors.
Reinforces instruction through drill and practice activities with individual students or small groups; leads assigned student activities.
25% – Administers assigned tests evaluating student learning.
10% – Checks students’ work in the classroom and demonstrates instructional material.
10% – Files student work and maintains related records.
10% – Tutor students and assist teachers.
8% – Corrects student assignments and records student grades.
5% – Reproduces instructional material for the teacher.
5% – Provides clerical support to assigned professional by typing related material and compiling information.
5% – Assists in collecting and maintaining data about student behavior; assists in implementing behavior management programs.
5% – Assists in the set up and maintenance of adaptive and technological equipment.
5 % – Maintains an inventory of classroom materials and equipment.
5% – Performs other duties as assigned.
3% – Assists in arranging instructional site to facilitate learning.
2 % – Prepares bulletin boards.
2% – Attends faculty and related meetings.
Qualifications Preferred
Graduation from high school or GED. Any equivalent combination of acceptable experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
• Spanish fluency, speaking and writing
• Ability to master and communicate instructional material.
• Ability to secure student cooperation independent of immediate supervisor.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relations with students, parents, and professional staff.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to successfully complete provided training in instruction in area of specialty.
• Ability to learn operation of standard school office machines and equipment.
• Skill in classroom management
• Some knowledge of child psychology and development, and the legal, ethical, and confidential nature of the job.
• Ability to master and communicate instructional material.
• Ability to secure student cooperation independent of immediate supervisor.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relations with students, parents, and professional staff.
